The "User Guide" is a manual intended to assist and guide our e-community members into using the site to its full potential.

As an unregistered visitor, you can only see community content partially.

To see all content and/or participate you can register at "Duende Adventure Travel Community" or just use our with your facebook account details if you have one and become a member.

This site consist in a Facebook type of "Social System" (called Community) along with a "Blog", "Forum" and "Newsletter". You can also share "Photos", "Videos" and participate on the "Groups" as part of the Social System. All our main sections are on our top menu at all times on the site, we advise you to use submenus as your overall sitemap.

Remember there are 2 ways you can participate on our site; as "Single User" or within one of the "GROUPS" we have created. We will explain further more how to do it.

At all time within this "Guide" you will have 2 places where you can browse main topics: "User Tools" module on the right side and also on the top menu under "Community".

We have divided the User Guide into main topics and subtopics where you will be able to read user instructions and follow visual aids.

COMMUNITY

 

1. Home

At Home you can see the newest members of the community, as well as the newest videos, photos, recent activities and latest groups. Moreover, you can see which members are online, who are top members of the community and the latest discussions.

2. Profile

The Profile page is where you will upload your personal information. You can upload basic information about yourself as well as a profile picture. You can edit this information at any time by using the edit button located on the top right side of the page.

You will find in your profile some details as karma, member since, last online and profile views, which are additional profile information of yourself. Below them, you can update your status as well as keep track of your inbox or invite friends.

Furthermore, you will find some modules, where you can change your privacy settings, add videos, send messages, view your inbox, invite friends or upload photos.

The Profile page also lets you know about latest activities, top members, online users and latest discussions. But before we go on, please find below an explanation of some profile details.

2.1 Karma

At Duende Adventure Community we use Karma as a user point-system. These points allow the webmaster to see how active a member is within the community. Karma will be activated as soon as you upload your profile picture and will keep on adding up when using the applications.

It is all about popularity in Duende Adventure Community, the more you participate, the more popular you get, therefore the more points you get.

2.2 Groups

Under the Groups tab, you will be able to see the groups you are a member of. Don't forget that you can upload videos, photos and even contribute in the group discussions as soon as you join!

2.3 Photos & Videos

2.4 Wall

At the wall you and your friends are able to share comments that will be posted in your profile page.

2.5 Applications

The Application module is an area where you can design your own profile. You have default applications and new applications which you

add or delete.

We have most applications installed by default. However, you will see that you are able to install some extra applications.

Some of the applications already set at Duende Community are:

- Feeds: in here you will be notified whenever there is movement in any of the groups you are member of, or if you received any mails,etc

- Groups: You can become a member of any of the groups and participate in discussions and upload content.

- Photos and Videos: you will be able to post videos and photos in your groups or in your profile.

- Walls: You can post any commentaries or opinions at your group's wall or at any friends wall.

2.6 Personal Messaging

This system allows you to send messages to any member of the community. You can do it by two different ways:

1. Just go to your inbox and write the message

2. Click on User's Profile and write the message

3. Groups

To be active in a goup, you have to become a member first. To become a member, click on the button "Join Us". Once you are a group member, you can create and participate in discussions, write on the walls and upload photos and videos.

Here you can see all the groups in the community or search for a specific one.

3.1 Announcements

Under this module, You can see the bulletins posted for a certain group. It can only be modified by the Group Manager.

3.2 Discussions

It shows all the discussions members started in a group and the replies they received.

3.3 Wall

The group walls, support comments and opinions given in a certain group.

3.4 Photos and Videos

You can Upload photos for each different group you are in, sharing the once in a lifetime experiences.

Also, upload your own videos or you tube videos by just clicking on the add video.

4. Forum

Join our Forum and contribute to the latest discussions in adventure travel. You can upload a new discussion at any time and reply on the already started ones.

5. Adventure Blog

In our Adventure Blog you can see very interesting and original articles and news about travelling experiences. However, we appreciate the art of writting, therefore the Adventure Blog is not open for all the members. Please let us know if you are interested in being an "author" so we can open you access to writting the best adventures.

6. Newsletter

 

Our newsletter includes an original set of articles, as well as tourns informations and travel tips from a certain area. You can receive it every two weeks in your email inbox by just registering. Just click on the Newsletter module and click in suscribe as the visual aid below.
