A new and modern archaeological conservation center is to be constructed at Tikal National Park, Guatemala. The project is being managed by the Guatemalan Ministry of Culture and would be founded by a six million dollar grant from the Japanese government, a spokesman said to Acan-Efe.

The first phase of the project will be undertaken by a Japanese company called Yamashita Sekkei Inc. and consists in the construction of a conservation and investigation center of the cultural and archaeological legacy of Tikal Park. The center is created to strengthen the infrastructure and to ensure adequate protection, conservation and research of the cultural heritage. It will hold laboratories equipped with cutting edge technology, solar power plants, exhibition galleries and a space for interaction between archaeologists and specialists with the public.
The Ministry of Culture is waiting for the Parliament to approve the Japanese donation in the coming weeks and hopes to start with the construction of this modern facility, which is estimated to be completed within a period not exceeding 18 months.

Personally, i think it could be very important that visitors could interact with specialists in order to realize how all this efforts will impact in the near future.
